Jello Night

November 22, 2011

Last friday we went to our youth group and they had a event called Jello Night. You probably guess what we did that night. We played games with jello! There was a kiddy swimming pool full of it. There was jello everywhere and everyone was covered to toe in it. My hands and feet were orange at the end of the night. They had all kinds of silly games and at the end there was a slip and slide with jello. That’s probably when I got the messiest. After that I had to get changed and cleaned up so I could play drums in the worship band. I had a lot of fun!

River Valley Trail

November 9, 2011

Here’s a video of a trail I found in the river valley near our house.

We went windsurfing for the first time this year. The water wasn’t that cold so we didn’t have to wear a wet suit. We got everything out and ready and started going.

The wind was blowing a different direction than what I was used to, but I ended up going pretty fast out to the other side of the lake. It’s when I turned around it got… a little freaky. I wanted to go back to get some water so I tried to go to the shore. The wind was going a different way than what I wanted it to and it was really hard. I had to zig zag back a few times and I was really tired.

When I finally did get back one of the guys that was there said, “Come on, the wind is great!”, so I ended up going out again, which was my first mistake. My second mistake was that I should have gone with a smaller sail. Caleb down-sized when he came in so I could have used his, which is smaller. The wind had picked up and I started sailing. It was great going out, but I had the same problem coming back in. Except this time I was REALLY tired. I wasn’t even half way back when I dropped the sail and had to sit down on the board to rest. I did that a few more times and had to swim the rest of the way back to the shore, where I carried the sail and board back to the shacks to put them away. Here are some pic…

Oh BTW… It was 36C.

Hockey Game….. Again

November 16, 2010

Only 3 hockey games left this season. Last night we had all our players, but we still did sticks in the middle. I didn’t want to do this because we had our whole team but it wasn’t that bad. I got two goals and a few assists. I like playing with my own team, but playing against some of them was pretty fun too.

Last Night Hockey Game

November 2, 2010

We won 9 to 3 again and I only got one goal. The other team got the first two goals and that really scared us. after the second period the score was 6 to 3. We got a lot of penalties and we were really tired. I had a lot of shots but they got smart and started standing in front of them so the puck wouldn’t get close the net. It was really annoying for me but smart for them.

Hockey

November 1, 2010

We have another hockey game tonight. I didn’t blog about last weeks so here are the highlights. We beat them 12 to 1 and they gave up again in the 3 period with 9 mins left. That was kinda annoying because I was going for a double hat trick. I got five goals that game and 2 assists. We’ll see what happens tonight.

Ouch!!!

This happened on Sunday at airsoft. Doesn’t look as bad as it did on Monday. I hope it stays for a while. Haha

Hockey Game

October 19, 2010

Last night was our third hockey game of the season.  We only have 4 people and a goalie on our team. We are on the ice (or concrete) the whole game. The other team has 6 plus a goalie.  We have won the first two games of this year. The first game was 9 to 0. I scored 4 goals. The other team gave up in the third period with 9 minutes left on the clock. The game last week we won 9 to 3. I only scored two goals. That’s because we played the first 10 minutes of the first period with only 4 players including the goalie. In roller hockey, you have to have 5 players on the ice to start, so we got a penalty.  Last night’s game was 11 to 5. We still beat them, but they are getting better every week. I scored 3 goals and got 3 assists.

Another Dilemma?

September 23, 2010

As you know I have been wanting to get a pistol for a very long time. I’ve been doing research to find the right one that has a balance between performance and reliability, not to mention easy to find parts.

After narrowing down the list of a lot of guns from many different companies, I have come down to the point of two guns because they are the most common. Reviews say they are reliable and there are a good supply of parts.

The first weapon is the WE High Capa. A High Capa is just a 1911 with a double stacked magazine and a heavier slide. A standard 1911 magazine (in airsoft) only holds 15 rounds. A high Capa can hold up to 30 rounds depending on which one you get. There are many different versions of the High Capa.

The High Capa Dragon – The High Capa Dragon normally comes in 5.1 length and in two different colors. It has a split slide so that the front part of the slide doesn’t move as the BB is being shot out of the barrel. It also has different sites than the normal High Capa. Since the slide is shorter, it is lighter than a normal High Capa slide. It doesn’t fit in that many holsters and It doesn’t look that good in my opinion.

The high Capa comes in many different lengths. As previously noted, it comes in 5.1, 4.3, and 3.8. The higher the number, the longer the slide, barrel, and frame.

The High Capa series all have their problems though. Mostly in the longer High Capa’s, the slide is too heavy for the gas to pull it back to load the next BB. Because of the design they are not that strong.

Many companies make parts for the High Capa series. Most of them for the 5.1 because it’s the most common model.

The next weapon is the SOCOM Gear 1911 MEU. SOCOM Gear is a company that buys WE guns and upgrades them. They put new barrels, springs and spring guides inside and put trademarks on the outside. There are a few kinds of 1911’s that they make but the one I want to focus on is the MEU.

The MEU has a 15 round single stacked magazine. A traditional gas gun magazine stacks the bbs in two offset rows. There is a lot of debate over how much gas the magazine holds. Some people say that after a while, they only get 7-9 shots off before they run out of gas. This problem is solved by proper filling of the magazine. The single stacked magazines are cheaper than the High Capa magazines and are more realistic. People have had problems with the magazine leaking and the base plate coming off. The reason for it leaking is because they aren’t lubing the magazine and the seals start drying out. The base plate coming off happens because they are slamming it into the gun too hard. SOCOM Gear has come out with a new design for the magazine which has a reinforced base plate that doesn’t come off.

The SOCOM Gear MEU comes in three different colors and according to many airsoft pistol review sites is considered the best 1911 out of the box (not including Tokyo Marui.) Tokyo Marui makes the best performing airsoft guns in the world, but because of Japan laws, Tokyo Marui isn’t allowed to have metal slides. This makes them a bit more fragile than full metal guns.

The SOCOM Gear MEU has a reinforced spring guide and a better piston head than the WE MEU. It is a reliable gun compared to the High Capa because of the design. It has a threaded adapter for a suppressor that you can attach. Using a suppressor will make the barrel heavy and not allow it to move that easily which means you will run out of gas before running out of BBs. A lot of companies make replacement parts for this weapon and there are lots of upgrade parts.

I think the most reliable gun out of the two is the SOCOM Gear MEU. For the reasons listed above, I think it is a better gun.

Dilemma

September 22, 2010

A person at airsoft is selling a M4 CQB for $100 and this is the reason I would like to have it.

I’ve been having a dilemma. I want my gun to shoot around 280-300 FPS so I can use it in the crates without people complaining about how much it hurts. But at that FPS, using it in the field wouldn’t be that good. Why? Because at that low FPS, the range wouldn’t be that good and it wouldn’t be able to penetrate through some of the leaves, bushes, etc etc.

I have been thinking about getting that gun. For a few reasons. I would take the gearbox from it and put it in my current M4. Mine has a longer barrel and the gearbox that he has in it shoots harder so there would be the range and penetration to use it in the field. I would put my gearbox with the Modular gears and a M90 spring (which would give me 280-300 FPS) in the body of that gun. It has a shorter barrel so I could use it in the crates without worrying about it being to long and heavy. (Which i am facing now.) Also. If that gearbox has 7mm bearings, we wouldn’t have to buy a gearbox shell. I would just take the internals from the gearbox that is in there now, and put it in my G&P gearbox. I could probably get it for $100. So instead of spending $60 on a gearbox shell, I could spend $100 and get a whole new gun and fix the one that I have now. (That is If the gearbox is 7mm.)
