Learning

The five key abilities are the foundation of the my experience. These abilities empower me to successfully solve problems today and tomorrow and prepare me for a demanding and rapidly changing world.

Thinking – involves critical, creative, analytical and practical thinking. I will identify key information and ideas and demonstrate my ability to analyze, evaluate, imagine and create solutions to complex problems and make informed decisions.

Discovering – involves the making of meaningful connections. I will become intellectually, scientifically and aesthetically engaged and draw meaning and value from a variety of disciplines and expressions.

Contributing – involves developing an understanding of oneself and others in order to interact, contribute and collaborate. I will make choices that promote my own well-being and that of others and master the ability to work collaboratively to demonstrate an understanding of different perspectives, value systems, and cultures.

Sharing – involves using all forms of communication to convey my understanding, ideas, interests and values. I will demonstrate and master the ability to speak, read, write and listen clearly, in person and through all forms of electronic media as I participate in local and global activities.

Learning – involves learning how to learn. I will engage my inquisitive natures and become a self directed learner.

Mastering the five core abilities is what gives me the power to stand out from the crowd.
