I took some pics of a tree that was blooming. They say it’s a pear tree that doesn’t grow pears-ornamental 👿

Looking through the scope; waiting for my target to line up with the cross hairs. There it is. The perfect shot. I take it. What? Missed??? I’m upgrading my L96 Sniper Rifle because the hop up
broke.
A hop up is a chamber that the BB goes through before entering the barrel of the gun. The whole point of having a hop up is that it puts a back spin on the BB so that it shoots straight and you can adjust it. There is a knob that pushes down on a tube of rubber that puts a back spin on the BB. The adjustment can make the BB go up or down. You want the BB to go straight and without the hop up, you wouldn’t have that much range. The hop up chamber goes right in front of the barrel. The whole unit is about an inch long but it can vary with different chambers for different guns.
The reason I’m upgrading my hop up is because it broke. There are some other reasons a person might want to upgrade. One might be that you can adjust the gun to shoot how you want it to shoot. A new gun probably doesn’t feel or shoot right until you get used to it or adjust it to how you want it. Another reason might be to make it more powerful and accurate. Barrels have a lot of affect on accuracy and power. Most stock barrels are 6.08 mm. You can get barrels that are as small as 6.01 mm. High quality BBs are from 5.95 to 5.98 mm. Having a tighter barrel increases accuracy and adds around 30 FPS to your gun.
What kind of hop up do I need for L96 Sniper Rifle? There are many different kinds I could get. Lots of companies make them but they are really hard to find. A few allow you to use AEG inner barrels instead of sniper cut barrels. UTG is the brand of my gun and the hop up broke. UTG is a clone company that makes clones of guns. Clone guns are guns that are made just like high end companies but they use cheap parts like pot metal and cheap plastics. PDI is a high end company that makes parts. They make two different versions of hop ups for the L96. One can take sniper cut barrels and the other one, which is more popular, is one that take AEG barrels. PDI offers repair kits that have extra allen wrenches, O-rings, screws and almost anything you would need to fix the chamber. Lalax also make two different versions that do the same thing. Lalax hop ups are harder to find and aren’t as good as PDI but if you want a sniper cut barrel, then you should go with Lalax, that is if you can find them.
What barrel should I get? It depends which hop up I want to get. If I get a PDI hop up that needs a AEG barrel, then I would get a barrel cut for an AEG. If I have a Lalax chamber that uses sniper cut barrels then I would get a sniper cut barrel. I took a look at both AEG and sniper cut barrels and the only difference I saw was the groove that the bucking slid onto was on different sides and the sniper barrel had a straight cut hole for the bucking to press down on while the AEG had slanted sides. I could also choose to get a ported barrel. A ported barrel has a hole for all the air in the barrel to escape. That means that I get more accuracy but it leaks out 5-10 FPS because there is not as good air seal.
Everything costs money. The UTG hop up costs around $8 but it wouldn’t last long. The PDI hop up chamber can cost from $45-$60 depending on where you get it. Lalax will be slightly cheaper but is harder to find. The barrel will cost $80-$85 if I want it ported. Airsoft is not a cheap sport but hey, I’ll have this gun for a while.
I still haven’t decided which one to get. If I can’t find a Lalax one then I’ll have to go to PDI. By the time I realize I can’t find a Lalax, the PDI might be out of stock. Now I am always checking web sites for the chambers and it will take a while to find one. Dad and I ordered the UTG stock hop up and it should be here soon. It should hold up until I get a high end chamber. Happy Sniping Eh?

We were driving back to our hotel when we saw a bike park right by the side of the road. Of course we had to go ride it. We went back to get our bikes and the first thing I though when I started to ride. Yuck, mud. It was so muddy. We did ride for a while but It got so anoying that we couldn’t anymore. So we went to clean it of in the river. Here is how we did it.
The day of Dec 4, I was at home waiting for dad to come and pick me up to go to RG8. I was nervous about being the youngest person there. Finally, dad came home and we packed up all our stuff, and started to drive.
RG8= Reindeer games 8 is an airsoft event. The 8 is for the 8th year they have been doing it and i don’t really know what the reindeer part is for. Maybe because it’s close to Christmas? There are usually around 200 people but this year there was only 140. You have to be 13 or older to play. Unfortunately, Caleb won’t be able to play for one more year. 🙁
It was only a 2 and a half hour drive so no need for a laptop. We left at around 6:30 and got to the field at around 9:00. It was dark as soon as we left and I typed in the address in the iPhone and started to tell dad where to go. It was a nice drive with lots of trees and one of towns we went through was just a long street with building on both sides with lights. We got to Jacksboro and started heading west to the field. We found it, drove in and parked. We waited for a while and went to bed
We slept in the van the night of Dec 4. Dad had to turn the van on every two hours to keep us warm enough. We moved most of the stuff out of the way so we could set up the sleeping bags and air mattresses. We climbed in and went to sleep. I was so cold only the top of my head was poking out. I woke up at 2:00 a.m. because dad was getting up to turn the van on. I went back to sleep and the next time I woke up was at 6:00 a.m. I got out of bed and unpacked the guns to go get them chronograph-ed (see how fast the guns shoot) .
I loaded up all our weapons and headed over to see how fast my gun shot. There is a little hand held machine that measures the speed of the BB rushing out of the barrel. It is all in FPS (feet per second): 350 for pistols, 400 for AEGs, 450 for support weapons and 550 for sniper rifles. My new gun chronograph-ed at around 330 with .25 gram bbs. We were suppose to chrono with .20 gram but I forgot where I put those. My sniper chrono-ed at 490 with the .25 gram and it would shoot around 545 with .20 gram.
Now we waited, and waited, and waited. We woke up at 6:00 and the first game was suppose to start at 9:00, so we had to wait for two and a half hours in the “cold” Texas air. There was no sun in the morning and a little bit windy so it made it feel colder.
Finally, the green team started to pile up into trucks to head out to the field. I decided to use my new AEG. We had 22 people in AA (Abilene Airsoft). That was most of the tan team! We were on the tan team which means that we were wearing tan pants and black shirts. Tan was out numbered 2 to 1. We started to walk to the field. Our first objective was to take a radio tower. There was two hills and between them was the tower. We climbed up the first hill and there they were. The green team was on the other hill with twice as many people as us. They quickly got rid of us. We went back to the re-spawn (we wait for 5 minutes to come back to life) point and they started coming down the hill. We held them off for the rest of the game.
Next, they tried to take our village but we held them off there also. The whole rest of that game in the morning was trying to hold them off from taking our village. I was suppose to stick with dad but we got separated a lot. There was not that much interesting things in that game; just trying to protect the village. We did manage to do that. The first game lasted 3 hours. We all piled in to trucks and headed back to the vehicles to eat lunch. Even though we held the village……. we still got WHOOPED!!!! We lost because the commanders of our team were mad at AA for some reason and told us to do things that would get us killed.
Now the good part. The second game we were driven out to where the green team were the last game. The game started and we headed up a creek bed that was 10 feet high on both sides. We were in the middle of it when they yelled out that the green team were coming…. with twice as many people as us. So we were stuck in a creek bed with no cover except each other.
Since we were about to get shot a lot I’ll explain what happens when you get shot. First, scream out that you’ve been hit or you will get shot even more and put the kill rag (red cloth) on your head to indicate you have been shot. Second, call for a medic and stand in front of people who are still “alive” so they don’t get hit. If the medic comes, stand in front of him so he doesn’t get shot trying to save you. You get a rope with three knots in it. The medic has to untie one of them for you to be “alive” again. Then, start shooting back at them.
In this game we actually did quite good for being outnumbered. We gained ground and started to push up the creek bed and finally could get out of it. We kept on pushing them out of the woods that we were in back to the clearing right below the hill that we got whooped at earlier in the day. I was using my sniper rifle so I could pick people off where they couldn’t hit me. 8) We pushed out of the woods into the clearing and then around 20 or 30 green people came down the hill and just stood around waiting for us to come towards them. I had the range to hit them so I started picking them off one by one. Lenbo was also shooting at them with his sniper and in under five minutes we shot all of them. We went back up to the woods and one of them snuck around us. Dad saw him and he called me to come and take him out. I was sneaking around a clump of bushes and I saw him lying on the ground facing away from me. Since I can’t shoot anybody unless they are more that 100 feet away, I put my sniper rifle down and went back to get the G36 from dad. When I had it I was going to go up and surrender him but he started to walk towards us. I was just about to shoot him when dad said “surrender”. So I didn’t shoot him (nuts). That is the first time I have ever surrendered anybody. At the end of the game we just wanted to do something silly so we attacked the green village and got whooped again. Ahhhh,,,,, what a great way to end the day. This game lasted 4 hours and we did better because we didn’t listen to the commanders. :p
After we packed up everything we went to the raffle to see if we could win anything. I won a $50 gift card!!!! The best thing to win was a Systema PTW that was worth over $1000. I still don’t know what to buy but I will know soon. Dad didn’t win anything so he got first pick on the free stuff.
I had a really good time and I hope to not only be there next year, but win something better…… On the way home I called mom and ZzZzZzZzZzZzZ and when we go home I just went to bed.
Yesterday it arrived!!!!! My new G&P M4 Defender. It is great!!!! We shot it yesterday and the ROF was really high. It only shoots around 350 but I don’t need that much FPS because I have a sniper rifle that shoots 550 FPS It is full metal and is really heavy. Here are some pics.
When we were in Denver we went to a mint. No, that’s not where they make candy, it’s where people make coins. They make all different kinds of American coins. There were a lot of security guards there because they had gold somewhere in the building. What was even crazier was that the police station was right across the road. If someone tried to break in, they’d get JAILED!!!! We were given coins that only 1000 were made. That may sound like a lot but they were never touched by human hands and they gave them out to everybody who came on a tour. Even the little kid who are going to rip open the wrapper and probably lose the coin. 😀 We saw how the coins were made and what materials they used. On the way out there was a hallway that was made a long time ago. It was a replica of a church in Italy. The roof was painted and all the floors were never replaced.
Yesterday we went skiing at Loveland. There were only five trails open and they were green and blue. The one we went on the most was a green and it had a stunt park on it with lots of jumps and fun stuff. It was really fun and I didn’t crash that much. Here are some photos.
I got the used bike in Colorado Springs. It’s a Specialized P3 2008 I haven’t had a chance to ride it that much but I will soon. It is in great shape because the guys wife only rode it for one race. The cost on the site was $950 but dad always has to have a lower price so he paid $800 for it. Only problem is that it has a sticker that has “Lana” on it and it won’t come of. 😛
Here is the link to a picture.
I’ve learned in doing research on a bike you have to look at a bunch of different sites to find what you want.
There is an STP 1, 2, ss and 0. The 0 has the best parts of the three and has hydrological breaks, where the other bike just have mechanical. There is a P1, P2, P3, P2 cromo and Pgrom. The P3 has the right angles for what we will be doing. I want the P3 over the STP 0 because the P3 has better parts, fork, and rims and has a better feel. But the STP 0 is much cheaper. I rode a STP 2 and it didn’t feel as good as a P3. I would like a P3 but an upgraded STP 0 will work.
We are looking at used ones also. The P3 are $1,650 new and they can range between $500 and $1,000 used depending on the shape they’re in. $1,650 is a lot for a dirt jump bike so we are starting to look more at used STP’s. I won’t make a decision without riding the bike first. If it doesn’t feel good then I won’t want to ride it all the time.
