Yesterday we drove 45 minutes to Angel Fire Resort to go Downhill biking. The first trail we did was a blue (I know, blame dad) It was pretty fun and had a few ladders a not that many jumps. There was only one real drop and it was only 4 feet. 🙁 But there were quite a few jumps and most of them weren’t very good. But that’s ok. It’s our first day riding for more that a year. The black runs were pretty hard up at the top. Dad didn’t have very much fun (so he says) but they weren’t as bad a some runs at Fernie. To end the day, we found the perfect combination of runs and Caleb’s bike broke down. 🙁
We painted my room this week. It wasn’t very fun….. But take a look at these pictures.
It took three days and two coats of paint and one coat of primer…… Now I can sleep in peace, knowing that I accomplished something.
Yesterday when we were wind surfing, I learned to plane. That is where you go really fast and the board starts to lift off the water. When your on the board, and a wind gust comes. You hook your harness on a hook on the boom. You have to lean back and bend your knees or else the sail will pull you forward and you will be swimming with the fishes. You also have to try to move back on the board. It’s really fun.
Here are some pics.
On Saturday we went wind surfing. We went with a friend of ours from dads work. We spent about half an hour on the beach learning the ropes. It was really fun but we have to go a few more times before we really “get” it. They say that we have the best water and wind for wind surfing so we are learning in a good place…… Oh and we saw a dead fish.
Here are some pics (not of the dead fish)
On day six of creation, God announced to his archangel underling, “Today we’re creating a place called Canada. Pull out all the stops. Give it beautiful mountains, lakes, plains, forests, and sandy beaches. Under ground, give it oil, gold, etc. Oh, and plenty of fish and wildlife.
“Sir” interjected an archangel, “aren’t you being overly generous to these Canadians?”
“Don’t worry, I’ll balance it out,” said God. “Wait ’till you see the neighbors I’m giving them.”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
An American couple get hoplessly lost while driving through Canada. Over the objections of her husband, the wife calls out to a pedestrian, “Hey buddy, can you tell us where we are?” The pedestrian smiles sympathetically and says, “Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.”
After she rolls up the window, her husband says, “I told you it wouldn’t do any good. They don’t even speak English up here.”
In WWII, A Japanese sub came up from the water right next to a US ship. The Japanese guns couldn’t shoot that low because the US ship was so close. So the men went inside to grab their guns. The US ship didn’t have guns, all they had were a bin full of potatoes. So, they started pelting the sub with potatoes!!! The Japanese thought they were grenades so they stated throwing them back and into the water. This made time for the US ship to get into a position to fire on the Japanese sub.
That’s a MacGyver move. 😛
On Friday, we went to a friend of dad’s piece of land to play airsoft. There were 6 of us including dad. Caleb gave me a little army man that was stuffed with candy (Jimbob) who we shot with our airsoft guns.
We went for lunch at Cracker Barrel and after that, we went to skate a bowl. We didn’t go to airsoft until after 4:00 and we left at around 9:00. It was a good day.
